Cardboard

Cardboard can be recycled and reused in a huge variety of ways, to make new cardboard boxes, office supplies and animal bedding.

Plastic

Plastic is incredibly versatile, and recycling bottles and packaging allows it to be reused in the manufacture of new products.

Wood/Pallets

Wood can be effectively reused as a building or landscaping material, or even recycled into mulch or pulp for paper production. Pallets can be repaired and recycled

The old oil is refined into new oil, lubricants, and fuel oils and used for raw materials. The old oil also comprises metals which can be recycled.

Solvents

Solvent recycling is the process of taking used, dirty solvents and cleaning them until the solvent is returned to its pure form

Garden Waste

Garden waste can be reused and recycled as compost or turned into a variety of soil conditioners. Garden waste can also be used as biofuel.

Food Waste/Scraps

Food waste can be reused and recycled as compost. Food waste can also be used as biofuel. Food waste can be used in Soldier fly farming

Paper

Paper, like cardboard, has huge reuse potential within the recycling industry. Newspapers, magazines, and books to name a few!

Glass

Recycled glass is sorted by colour, cleaned, crushed and melted, before then moulding it into new products such as jars and bottles.

Scrap Metal

Recycled metals can be melted and reshaped into new products. Reuse also reduces Carbon Dioxide and other greenhouse gases.

Aggregates

Recycled aggregates can be used in many instances in the construction industry, such as cable trenching, laying block paving and drainage works.

Cooking oil

Cooking oils can be filtered and recycled into a range of products – such as bio-fuel, cosmetics, or animal feed

Electronic Waste – WEEE

WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment – in other words, electrical and electronic goods that are disposed. we’ll arrange for items to be sold and reused by our charity partners where possible, but if they can’t be reused, they will be dismantled and recycled

Other items Safe Waste can recycle:
  • Large batteries, e.g. those from gate motors, alarm systems
  • Aluminium foil, e.g. Pie plates, some yoghurt seals, foil food wrap
  • Old X-Rays
